“Gronostaj” Tactical Vest
The “Gronostaj” tactical vest was designed by ASTRIVA in collaboration with MIWO Military Lubliniec—a Polish manufacturer of tactical gear whose solutions are based on the experience of uniformed personnel and lessons learned from real-world operations and overseas missions. For years, MIWO has been designing equipment for the military, uniformed services, shooters, and demanding civilian users, focusing on functionality, durability, and the ability to adapt the gear to specific tasks.
“Gronostaj” is a universal plate carrier designed for both uniformed services and demanding civilian users. Thanks to its well-thought-out design, it offers extensive configuration options and adaptability to various operational, training, and security tasks.
Whether the priority is mobility, comfort, low weight, or expansion with additional modules, “Gronostaj” allows the configuration to be tailored to the user’s needs.
Main features:

Pockets for SAPI L ballistic inserts: The vest features main pockets designed to accommodate SAPI L-sized ballistic plates, with the option to securely mount smaller plates (SAPI S, SAPI M, Shooter Cut 10” x 12”) using an internal stabilizing strap.

Side pockets for ballistic inserts: the system allows for the installation of soft and hard side inserts in sizes 6“ × 6”, 6“ × 8”, and 8“ × 8”, increasing the level of protection while maintaining high mobility.

Breathable cummerbund: the widened side belt made of breathable mesh features additional ventilation channels that improve comfort during prolonged wear.

MOLLE straps on the shoulders: allow for convenient routing of radio cables, hydration system tubes, and attachment of lightweight accessories.

Material: 1000D IRR nylon. The vest is made of durable 1000D IRR nylon, resistant to abrasion and heavy use. The material has properties that reduce infrared reflectivity.

Colors: available color options: green, black, and pattern 93.

Widened rescue handle: the reinforced rescue handle allows for the quick and safe extraction of the user from a hazardous area.

Full adjustability: Adjustments at the shoulders and side straps allow the vest to be tailored to the user’s body type, clothing, and equipment configuration.

This product does not provide protection without the use of appropriate ballistic plates—the vest itself does not constitute ballistic protection. Our covers K2 “Biegacz” with Successfully passed all the tests, meeting the criteria standards PN-V- 87000:2011 and demonstrating a high level of reliability even under extreme conditions of use. Plate deflection was located in the compartment 26—31 mm, which remains below the permissible limit of 45 mm specified in the current standard.

How do we test K2 ballistic cartridge?

Compliance with Standard PN-V- 87000:2011
Before our product reaches the market, it must undergo rigorous ballistic tests, in accordance with the requirements of the Polish standard MON-V- 87000:2011. This standard specifies the test procedures for ballistic shields, classifying them according to their level of protection, and describes in detail the conditions that must be met during testing in order for the results to be reliable and comparable. These tests shall include ballistic resistance tests on a randomly selected group of shields from a given production batch.
Climate and Humidity Testing
Plates K2 “Biegacz” passed 4 series of rigorous trials in an accredited Laboratory of Research of Small Arms and Security Guards WITU. Each test was carried out on independent sets of plates under the conditions of:
Dry conditions — reference samples.
Irrigation simulation — assessment of the effect of moisture on the composite.
Heat up (+50°C) — Imitation of a hot climate.
Cool down (-40°C) — mapping Arctic conditions.
Impact Parameter Control
Each of the tests included 6 shots in precisely defined places on the board, according to the arrangement indicated in the standard, which allows to evaluate both the point resistance and the structural behavior of the shield after repeated firing. The key parameter was the preservation of a strictly defined projectile speed — in the case of the K2 class: 420 ± 15 m/s — with a shot distance of exactly 5 meters.
Methodology and Expert Supervision
A total of 48 shots (7.62x25mm P-shell ammunition) were fired during the tests under controlled test conditions. Each trial was evaluated independently by 2 experts conducting research. The evaluation took into account measurements of the velocity of the projectile and the subsurface depression under the cover formed as a result of the deformation of the plate.
